Last night someone using the address num20005@aol.com posted messages to many North Carolina county lists, beginning >I found a site that gave me a lot of help with lookups and research. >This site is pretty good. It is still under construction though. The message was not signed. The number of lists to which it was simultaneously posted puts this message in the category of spam, or list abuse. Accordingly, I would like to suggest that you not take this apparently "helpful" suggestion at face value, but be very wary that it is actually a commercial advertisement in disguise. I apologize in turn for sending this warning message to so many lists, but felt it important to reach all NC researchers.
