HI: I finally made a breakthrough (well, actually my cousin did :-), because he checked their death records in Ohio) with my gggrandfather NATHANIEL LONG and his wife LUCRETIA (NEE EVANS). They were from ALAMANCE COUNTY, NC and moved to GREENE COUNTY, OHIO. I'd like to know if anyone knows about my family. Here are some bare bones facts about them: Nathaniel died August 30, 1934 in Xenia, Ohio - His Father's Name was William Long (No other info on his father). Nathaniel was 75 years old when he died. He is buried in Cherry Grove Cemetery in Xenia, Ohio. Lucretia Long died October 29,1912 in Springfield, Ohio at the age of 51. She is buried in Cherry Grove Cemetery, Xenia, Ohio. Her father's name is Robert Evans (Alamance County, NC) and mother's maiden name is (first name unknown) Oliver or Olivier. Lucretia was said to be Cherokee, although other researchers have told me Lumbees are the dominant tribe in the area. I need info on African American and white LONGS and EVANS in Alamance County.
