HI: I'm researching NATHANIEL LONG and his wife LUCRETIA EVANS in Yanceyville Township, NC. Nathaniel and his family left Alamance County around 1899 and settled in Ohio, where they are buried. I'm trying to find out who their families were in North Carolina. Nathaniel was listed in the 1870 Census in Caswell living as a laborer on JOHN EVANS' farm -- maybe Lucretia's relative??? Nathaniel and Lucretia also moved to Alamance Co., I think around 1880, then left for Clark County, Ohio forever. Nathaniel may be the son of freedman WILLIAM LONG, who married NANCY TONEY, daughter of LUCY TONEY, in Caswell County in the 1840s. Lucy Toney was living alone in Caswell at age 42 in the 1850 Census. Other freedmen living near her were THOMPSON BAGE, ELIZABETH BAGE, JOHN MASON AND SARAH MASON. Need help in tracing these bare details of my family. Please see my Long-Enoch Web site at http://members.aol.com/berryk/family/index.htm. Research suggestions welcome! K. Berry
