Joseph Allen born 1839 married Annie Barbee 1887 Alamance Co.N.C. Can't seem to find any info on Joseph-it is like he didn't exist-but he did- he was my paternal grandfather. All of my life(I am now 65)I have never known anything about him-parents,siblings,date and place of burial.Mom died 1971,but she always said daddy didn't talk about his family. Wonder why? My brothers(deceased) always wondered if we were related to Allen clan that shot up courthouse in Va. and he was ashamed of it.
