    3. Further to my query of yesterday, concerning the Deep Creek Primitive Baptist Church, I understand it is located in or near Hopewell, as directions to a bed and board operated by Linda and Ramon Quinoz, known as Deep Creek Plantation, directs visitors to "get off at Hwy 62, go to Hopewell, and ask for directions to the Deep Creek Baptist Church. If a reader of this message lives in Alamance County would you please check your phone book for the number and address cited for the Deep Creek Plantation, and the Deep Creek Baptist Church. Thanks for any information or assistance. Tom Davis Oceanside, CA

Tom Davis Oceanside, California >> Hello Tom, Upper Stony Creek is a creek that flows from Caswell County into Alamance County. The surrounding area overlaps the two counties. There is a large hill known as Stony Creek Mountain which is a prominent feature for the general terrain. You more that likely will find records for the Thedfords and the Williams in Caswell County, rather than in Alamance. Alamance County was not formed as a county until 1849; its early records will be found in Orange County, and sometimes Caswell, which was divided off from Orange in the 1777. Stoney Creek Mountain area is in the Faucette Township of northern Alamance County, just at the Caswell County border. Hope that this helps some. Best regards, John Fox Winston-Salem, NC
