    3. The following was posted by Sarah Johnson <jobi0618@cs.com> on Tue, 25 Jan 2000 on the Alamance County GenConnect Query Forum: - -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Surname: Albrecht, Albright, Keller Seeking additional information on Anna Maria Keller Albrecht/Albright, who was married to Ludwig Albrecht in Berks County, PA in the early 1750's. They later moved to Orange County, NC (now Alamance County), VA where they raised a family of eight children. Recent info. has caused me confusion over who were Anna Maria's parents and where the family resided after their arrival in this country. In searching info. on Germany Queries recently, I discovered one written by Jerry Keller regarding Julia Kleindinst and her father. Info. which I had obtained in the past listed as Anna Maria Keller's parents, Heinrich and Julia (Kleindinst) Keller. I responded to Jerry Keller's query; he responded back that his ancestor was a different Anna Maria Keller, whose parents were Heinrich and Julia (Kleindinst) Keller of Bucks County, PA. His ancestor, Anna Maria Keller Litzenberger was born and died in Bucks County, PA. He further stated that this could be verified by the Bucks County Historical Society. Could anyone provide me with any documentation over whether my ancestor was the daughter of this couple? Or if not, who they were? I would appreciate any assistance in this matter. - --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Any replies should be sent to the Alamance County GenConnect Query Forum [<http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/NC/Alamance>] unless it is personal or involves live people addresses etc. when it should be sent to Sarah Johnson <jobi0618@cs.com>. --

    1. [NCALAMAN] Dating Tombstones
    2. Katherine White-Duke
    3. Hi List, I got the following form another list. Hope this info. clears up some graveyard mysteries for some of you. Dating Tombstones One way to help find the era your ancestor was buried is to examine the material from which the tombstone is made. If your ancestor has a stone made of slate or common fieldstone (except wood used by pioneers), chances are the stone dates from 1796-1830. * If the stone is flat-topped hard marble, dates are about 1830-1849. * If the "mystery" stone is round or pointed soft marble with cursive inscriptions, look for a date of 1845-1868. * Masonic four-sided stones began in 1850 and are still in use today. * Pylons, columns and all exotic-style monuments are usually dated 1860-1900. * Zinc monuments date from 1870-1900. * Granite, now common, came into use about 1900. If the writing is too faded to read, use a 75 watt black light bulb in any lamp that casts light directly on the written message. The writing will miraculously appear.
