TN) who married Margaret ROBERTSON a/k/a ROBERSON a/k/a ROBINSON May, 1774 in Guilford Co., NC. Andrew WILSON resided near High Rock Ford, Rockingham County, NC ca. 1774-1800 when he relocated to Wilson Co., TN near Andrew Jackson's Hermitage, together with ROBERTSON brothers-in-law Hugh ROBERTSON (ca. 175-1805) a veteran of the NC Continental Line at Guilford Court House in March 1781, and Andrew ROBERTSON (b. ca. 1760 d. 1837 Clay Co, MO).Could John WILSON (d, 1800 Rowan Co.. NC) be the grandfather of my Andrew Wilson? John Wilson's will prob. 1800 ROWAN CO., NC gives specific bequest of 100 acres to ANDREW WILSON, son of my son JOHN WILSON. The surnames ANDREW and JOHN carry through my WILSON Line to the early 1900's. (E.g. ANDREW WILSON (1750-1827) had only one son named JOHN R. WILSON, whose eldest son was named ANDREW R. WILSON. Any help on this issue would be appreciated. ANDREW ROBERTSON (b 1796 Wilson Co., TN d. 1872 Clay Co. MO) said his father Hugh ROBERTSON and his uncle Andrew WILSON were Revolutionary Solders at Battle of Guilford Court House March 1781 in his personal autobiography of 1870. Would like to confirm this statement from records. Thanks.

This is the beginning of one page of Rachel's pension application. State of North Carolina } County of Alamance }ss ON THIS 8th day of April 1869, personally appeared before me, a Clerk of a Court of Record in and for the County and State aforesaid Rachel WEBSTER a resident of ~ in County of Alamance and State of North Carolina AGED 83 YEARS, who being duly sworn, makes the following declaration, in order to obtain the Pension provided by the Act of Congress approved JULY 14, 1862. That she is the widow of Charles WEBSTER who was a private in Company commanded by James Graham in the 3d Regiment of N Carolina Vols in the War 1812 that her maiden name was Rachel HOLT and that she was married to said Charles WEBSTER about the year 1803, at ~ ~ in the County of Orange (Now Alamance) and State of North Carolina by Michael Holt, Esq and that she knows of no record evidence of said marriage except the license which she thinks was returned unto the County Court Clerks Office of the County of Orange. Is Rachel was even close to 83 in 1869 she would have been born about 1786. She was actually married about September 10, 1807. This is the bond date. This means that she would have been about 21 years of age when she got married. So, with this, she would have been at home in the 1800 census and married in the 1810 census. With the two census's below is it possible to even make an educated guess as to which of these could have been her father? James, Francis and John are the only three that have a daughter in the 10 to under 16 age bracket. But, knowing how the ages change with the document she might have been in the 16 to under 26 age bracket. Absolom, Isaac, Michael,Francis, John, William and the other John have daughters in this age bracket. OK, Where did she disappear from in 1810. Believe it or not I just can not seem to come to any conclusions from all this. HELP!!!!!! If anyone has any informtion on this Rachel I would really appreciate the help. HI: I'm researching NATHANIEL LONG and his wife LUCRETIA (EVANS) of Alamance Co. Nathaniel's father's name was WILLIAM, his mother's surname was OLIVER or OLIVIER, and Lucretia's father's name was ROBERT EVANS. Nathaniel was born in the mid-1870s and Lucretia was younger. They had six children and moved to Ohio before the turn of the century. Family legend has it they had to flee North Carolina cause their son EDWARD, nicknamed PINK, got into a fight with a white man. While researching them I have noticed many HOLTS and ISLEYS, both white and African-American, in the U.S. Census records, living in the same neighborhood as my LONG relatives. I'd like to know whether you've encountered any LONGS or ENOCHs (variation on spelling, such as ENOCKS) in your research. See my LONG-ENOCH Web page for more details: http://members.aol.com/berryk/family/index.htm K. Berry
