Posted on: Alamance County, NC Query Forum Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/NC/Alamance/707 Surname: Isley, Mitchell ------------------------- Hi Mary, I noticed that you are trying to find the parents of Jackson Isley, the father of Martha "Patsy". I have came across several documents that list John Iseley and Mary "Polly" Brinkley as the parents of Martha "Patsy" who married Albert Mitchell. In the 1860 North Carolina Census, Alamance Co., dated June 14, 1860 on page 56, Dwelling No. 248, Family No. 248 it has the following listed: John Iseley, age 85, Farmer, real estate value 700 personal property value 300, born in NC Albert Mitchell, age 35, Farmer, born in NC Martha Mitchell, age 33, born in NC, cannot read or write Austin Mitchell, age 6, born in NC W. G. Mitchell, age 4, male, born in NC Jes (could not make out the remaining letters in Jes) Mitchell, age 3, male, born in NC C. C. Mitchell, age 4/12 female, born in NC In the Caffey/Ireland Family Book it list John and Mary "Polly" as having the following children: Martha "Patsy" Almeda Jerry Creely John Iseley's father was Lewis Iseley, born in Germany, the son of Ludwick Isley. My gggrandfather was John Creed Isley whose parents were listed as J.& M. Iseley. I feel that he is Creely. John Creed Isley married Sallie ? and they are listed in the 1850 NC Census as Creely, age 25, and Sallie age 25. They were living near John Iseley and Mary. John was born in 1775 and Mary in 1785. I am trying to make sure that John Creed Isley and Creely are the same person. I feel sure they are. Back then if the father and son had the same first name, the son would be called by his middle name. Larry

Hello, It has been awhile since I posted so I thought I would try again. I have a brick wall that I need help with. I am trying to find the marriage bond or date for William Henry Clark and Narvella "Narvie" Elizabeth Clark of Orange County. I am sending to both counties as it is possible the records could be in Alamance. Here are the facts I know: Parents of Narvie Clark: Edward Franklin Clark Born: Feb. 7th, 1845 Orange Died: Oct. 24, 1921 Guilford Mother: Martha McPherson Clark Born: Abt. Oct. 1854 Died: Jan. 8th, 1920 His Parents: John Clark and Mahalah Ray of Orange Married: 7/28/1829 (Orange Co. Marr. Rec. Her Parents: Franklin McPherson and JoAnna Andrews Married: 12/15/1847 (Orange Co. Mar.Rec) The 1850 census in Orange County have Franklin and Anne with one child William, 6 months old but I cannot find Edward Clarks family in the 1850 census for Orange County. I also cannot find any record of a marriage for Willim Henry and Narvie. She was married to James C. Morton first and their record is in Alamance County. They were married Dec. 1899. So her marriage to William Henry would have to been between 1901 and 1907 according to other information I have. They moved to Guilford County sometime around 1907 or 1908. The death certificate for William lists his father as John Clark of Orange County but no mother. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Posted on: Alamance County, NC Query Forum Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/NC/Alamance/704 Surname: Foust, Scales, Kivett, Holt ------------------------- Researching African American Fousts from alamance county. Most interested in info regarding slaves belonging to the Foust families of Alamance, Guilford, Orange and Randolph Counties. James Alexander Foust was a slave. he belonged to George Foust of Orange ( later Alamance county). He was later given to George's son Thomas Foust as a wedding present. I'm trying to located descendents of possible brothers James may have had that were bounded out by George Foust to other Families in Alamance. I believe these brothers names to be Daniel, Walter, possibly Squire and Duncan. These brothers may have been under the age of 16 before the end of the Civil war. Thank you, Karen Anderson Link: African American Foust URL: <http://http://www.angelfire.com/on2/makemebelieve/index.html>
Posted on: Alamance County, NC Query Forum Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/NC/Alamance/702 Surname: Bason ------------------------- I may be able to find you some info on the Bason family in NC about that time. My husband's great grandfather was Joel Madison Phillips, and he was a life long friend of one of the Bason's. Joel was also born in 1819 in Alamance County or Orange, depending what part he was born in. I believe I have a book with some NC census records in it. I will try to find it, as I believe I saw the Bason name in a couple places in there. Good luck, and I will try to get back to you soon. Jacqaue
