Everyone, Some spam messages have been getting through on several of the Rootsweb lists I receive lately, as just happened on the NC- RollCall list. I've placed this list on moderation so that all messages must come through me, until Rootsweb can address the problem. As I'm sure most of you know, whenever a message that is suspect arrives - from a Rootsweb list or an e-friend or an address you don't know - it's important not to click on any links contained in the message. Hi listers..I am searching for a WILLIAM MOORE born 1800, NC. He came to Indiana about 1840, where he married CLARISSA STURDE BENNETT (also born in NC, 1820) in Monroe County, IN., in 1841. He may have been married pre- viously, as a son named ADAM, b. 1829, NC was listed as part of the family on 1850 census. I have been unable to find anything about this family after 1860. Any info, clues, and/or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance..Mobie McCammon

Looking for Heath families who migrated to Georgia in the early 1800' s. Martin Luther Heath was born in Jasper County, Ga. in 1819. He said on 1880 census that both parents were born in N.C., but county is not known. He named all his children names with the initials A.A. Heath, so that may have been his father's initials. Hello, again, all MORRISON and/or Iredell family searchers. I am now in the mode of 'grasping at straws' seeking any information about some one or more possible families from which my GxGM Martha MORRISON might have come. This John MORRISON, b. ca 1743, and 'orphaned', and then, travelling with a family of the POTTS name from Lebanon (PA.?) to Iredell Co., NC, in ca. 1748, or later has all the 'needed' points to be a good fellow for me to know more about! I say that because Martha, my female ancestor, married a man (John Sloan HAYNES) who was born in Iredell or Rowan Co., NC. The marriage occurred in ca. 1810, and John was b. ca. 1790, making him ca. age 20, if the dates are all correct. Martha was said to have been born in Tennessee, but no searching person has been able to discover any MORRISON family in Tennessee from which she might have come, when she was born, ca. 1795. I have about concluded that she may have been born in NC, and gone to Tennessee with the HAYNES family, before marriage to John Sloan HAYNES had occurred. Does anyone know the name of John MORRISON's wife? So, if this John MORRISON might be Martha's father or grand-father, who were the rest of her family members, before her marriage?? If she was born in NC, then, she would have been shown as a child under age 10 in the home of her father, in the 1800 census. Can any of you census 'pros' see a MORRISON family in either Rowan or Iredell County, with such a young female child? Can any census 'pro' find the house-hold of this John MORRISON in the 1790 or 1800 census, in Iredell Co., NC.?? Any little bit of info, at this point, is like gold to me!! Thanks for all help!! Joe DUKE

Hello, students of Iredell Co. and NC history of the MORRISON family. Martha was b. 25 February 1790, perhaps in Iredell Co, NC. She was married in 1807 to John S. HAYNES, in Iredell Co. That very brief two-sentence description is everything I know about her! I have a much better set of facts about her husband, so it is my hope that someone who reads this will be able to help me, with some information about her. If any MORRISON family student knows more about her, I surely will appreciate your help!! Was she born in Iredell, or where? Who were her parents? Thanks for any assistance to me!! Joe DUKE
