"The grandfather of Henry Jones, Walter Jones, was born ca 1670 (d. 1728 Beaufort Co. NC), m. Dorothy Bodat. He was a minister of the Anglican church in NC. He is listed in 1717 as owning 218 acres of land and in 1723, as a Freehoolder in Beaufort and Hyde Co.; children: Simon Jones; Alice Jones m. Jacob Moore; Elizbeth Jones m. _?_ Nicholson; Liscomb Jones m. William Taylor; Tomsond Jones; Ambrose Jones; Walter Jones, Jr. m. _?_ Abbott."
