We were out today with a friend seachng for grave sites. These had been given to me and were ones I did not know about. They were African-American near Pactolus. The families were Sheppards, Daniel (Daniels), Hyman, Little, Cherry, King, Williams and others. About 50 graves total at three different sites. Found a few more but unable to record them today. The person driving for me had other business this afternoon. It was really too hot today. Bill
Bill, please post the Sheppard families. My gg grandfather was Simon Sheppard b.1815. He lived in Swift Creek, Pitt county on the 1880 census. One of his sons lived in Pactolus. I have no other information on the sheppards.
