Some people still ask about the four volumes of deed book abstracts by Judith DuPree Ellison. They cover a period in Pitt County, NC from 1761 to about 1830. Very helpful and handy to have at home. A friend of mine Dot Sumrell pulled families from these books and put the deeds for those families in order by year. I have copies of about 35 families that she did, including the Smiths (83 pages). Melissa E. Quesenberry, Mrs. Ellison's daughter still has about 20 sets left. When they are gone there will be no more. When they were first sold years ago they were $90.00 a set. Melissa is selling them for $45.00 including shipping. You cannot beat this price. If you want a set contact Melissa. You will need to allow about two to three weeks for shipping. She travels for a company and is gone a week or more at the time. She will ship them when she gets back from her trips. I have ordered for others and found she is very reliable. I am not selling the books for her. Just want to let you know how good they are and everyone researching in Pitt needs a set before they get gone. Melissa E.
