    3. Good news! John McGowan, the new NCGenWeb county coordinator for our parent county, Beaufort, has asked me to pass along his opening announcement, following at the end of this message. I've contributed my own Beaufort County data (accessed through our own Main Menu under "Pitt's Parent County") to John who is posting them on the official county website. My link will eventually be changed to reflect their new location. If you have friends and contacts who are researching Beaufort Co., please pass the new URL to them. John has a long history of dedication to sharing resource material --his Hyde Co. web site is an inspiration! I'm sure you'll find him helpful in every way. ANNOUNCEMENT Folks, You are invited, one and all, to visit the new and much improved Beaufort Co., NCGenWeb Pages web site at: http://www.rootsweb.com/~ncbeafor/ncbeau.htm My name is John McGowan, mailto:[email protected] and many of my ancestors were from Beaufort County, including Martins, Aldersons, Gurganus, Davis, Winfields, McGowans, Hodges and others. I am descended from even more families from Hyde County. The new Beaufort Pages will be dedicated to research and assistance. I am in the process of posting new items at this moment with much more to come. I have posted the 1790, 1800, 1810, 1820 and 1850 Beaufort census records online and work has begun on the 1830 and 1840 censuses. I will appreciate any and all contributuions. Volunteers are always appreciated. Your comments and constructive critisms are welcome. However, please keep in mind that I am having to create a totally new web site from the ground up, so your patience and assistance will be appreciated. Please send your Queries, Surnames, or other info to me at mailto:[email protected] for posting directly onto the Beaufort Co., NCGenWeb Pages web site. I am also host of the Hyde Co., NCGenWeb Pages at: http://www.rootsweb.com/~nchyde/HYDE.HTM which now has over 2050 pages of data and research, so cooperation between the counties will be all the better. I look forward to our research. Thanks, John B. McGowan [email protected]
