The link below is a lengthy genealogy report that may be of some interest to anyone with ties to Charles Rollins, Revolutionary War pensioner, dec'd 1840's in Pitt County. It is worth reading the entire thing. It is regarding a James Rawlins who first witnessed a deed in Pitt County in 1773. James Rawlins was apparently a tory who was living in Martin County in 1776/1777. He was arrested in 1777 trying to flee with his family from Mattumuskeet (sp?). He gave depositions after his capture about the Gourd Patch or Llewellyn Conspiracy. The report seems to suggest he was a brother of our Charles Rollins, that they may have had ties to Boston and or London.
