Gloria The 1815 Tax Lists for Craven County have been rediscovered! These listings supplement the 1810 Craven County Census (which is missing) and are the only known early nineteenth century tax lists for Craven County that are complete. (Portions of some years and districts have survived.) The lists are now being transcribed and placed online at the Kellenberger Room website (http://newbern.cpclib.org/research/ follow "Online Resources for Research" to "Genealogical Resources") or at http://newbern.cpclib.org/research/tax/1815tax.htm. Only 5 of the 15 lists have been transcribed, but more are being added as they are completed. Check us out and happy researching! Victor --- Victor T.
