The Pitt County Family Researchers' Reunion will be Oct. 13 and 14 In the Fellowship Hall at the Mormon Church at 307 Martinborough Rd. Greenville, NC . We will have two speakers during the two day event. Ann Basnight of Washington, NC will speak on Troubles with the 1900-1930 Census Records. Larry Thompson of the Plymouth Museum will speak on family research and history in Eastern NC. The meeting will open Friday morning Oct. 13 with Registration and coffee, juice and doughnuts from 8:00-9:00 AM. After words of welcome to everyone we will have our first speaker. Later that morning transportation will be provided to the Courthouse, Joyner Library at ECU and Sheppard Memorial Library for those who would like to research at one of those sites. For those who choose to go to these research sites, you will be picked up at a designated time later that afternoon. You will also have access to the Morman Church Library at the meeting site if you wish to stay there. The PCFR family files that have been submitted to us by our members will be available at the meeting site .This is a considerable amount of research data on Pitt County families that has been accumulated over the years by our members. (Trees, bibles wills, pedigree charts etc). A copy machine will be available at the meeting site. You will be on your own for lunch on Friday. There are many places to eat within walking distance of the libraries and the courthouse. On Friday night we will reserve space at a local restaurant for those who would like to get together for dinner. This outing is Dutch. You can order from the menu and will each get separate checks. Saturday morning Oct. 14 we will again open at 8:00 for coffee, juice and doughnuts. This will be followed by our second speaker and time for research and information exchange at the meeting site. Lunch will be catered in the Fellowship Hall and homemade desserts are usually provided by our local members. This lunch is included in the registration fee. The Registration Fee for the two days is $30. The deadline for registering is September 30.
