    3. I am researching the Harris line. John Jackson Harris was born Feb 1862, according to the 1900 census. He was born in North Carolina or Virginia. In the 1900 and 1910 census, he reported being born in VA. In the 1920 census, he reported being born in NC. I have searched for more information and have hit a brick wall. I found: 1870 Census: California District, Pitt County, NC California John J. Harris, age 7, born NC living with John R. Procter, age 40, born NC, brick mason Fanie (Fannie?) S. Procter, age 36, born NC Miles Joyner, age 52, born NC Bettie Joyner, age 47. Could this be John Jackson Harris? At Family Trees, Ancestry.com I found: George Jackson Harris, born abt 1830 Pitt County, NC wife Fereby Harris, born abt 1832 children: Stephen Harris, born 1859 Pitt County, NC John Andrew Harris, born 1864 Pitt County, NC Rosa Harris, born 1867 Pitt County, NC. Both the names John and Jackson are in this family tree and gives me hope I may find a connection. Any information would be greatly appreciated! Beverly

    3. In my files I have the following: Jackson Harris married Ferebee Howard. The children I have are: John Andrew Harris b. May 8, 1865 married Salina Jones Mary Jane Harris b. Oct. 11, 1863 married George W. Jones Stephen Harris b. 1859 Vinnie Harris b. Aug. 8, 1870 married Charlie Jones Katie Harris b. 1873 married George Harris Salina, George and Charlie were brothers and sister. They were also the brothers and sister of my great grandfather, William "Bill" Jones from Ayden. Bill Jones also married a Harris, Rosetta Harris who was the daughter of Robert Harris and Susan Nichols. I do not have this Jackson Harris tied to my Charles Harris and Loany McLawhorn who were my third great grandparents.
