    3. I found the following in the 1995 February issue of the Pitt County Genealogical Quarterly. Since it was an early quarterly I thought I would pass this on as it gives location of where some of the Braxtons moved. Letter to Sheriff S. I. Dudley from Aledo, TX Feb 1, 1911 Turned over to the Reflector. Abstracts from letter: Will you please inform me if there is living in your county persons by the name of Braxton. I would love to correspond with them. Myfather and mother were born and raised in Pitt. My grandfather BRAXTON's given name was JOHN and my grandmother's name was HANNAH BRAXTON. My father's name was LACY BRAXTON and one of his brothers was COUNCEL BRAXTON. Two other brothers were JOHN and CHARLES. His sister m. Luke Lohon or McLohon. My father's first wife (and my mother) was Elizabeth Parker Three children, Marion d. in infancy, Elbert died age 12 in TN. The third is myself, ELIAS BRAXTON (now age 66). My mother died in 1846 and my father m. in 1848/49 Lizzina Tripp, d/o Arter Tripp. They moved to TN in 1849 and rasied six chidren all living now in TN except one that went to TX. My father has been dead near 25 years. My grandfather Parker lived and died in Pitt. My mother had two brother, Frank and James Parker. Sisters, Sylva m. Simon Hamilton and Rachael m.
