You might call the closest Genealogical Society for help. I would assume Orlando has a big one but might be something closer. They would probably be willing to send two seasoned researchers or meet you somewhere. Jean would certainly qualify but she does not live close to you, don't think. From the description you have given for the Bible it is going to take a couple of people used to reading old crumbling documents and a couple of heads are going to be better than one in this case.
