At the bottom of every message posted to NC-PCFR, two lines below the actual signature and body of the message is the following line: Post to this mail list at: NC-PCFR-L@rootsweb.com To post, just click on the address and it brings up an addressed message box and all you have to do is type in your message....just as easy as hitting the reply button to bring up a message box, and much less confusing to the readers. This complaint eventually comes up on every mail list I've been on. The reply button shouldn't be used unless you are replying to that particular message. It would be a good thing for everyone to lose the "Reply button habit" and also give some thought to the subject line. This list is not all that busy, but I am on a couple of lists that I only read subject lines because of the the large number of e-mails coming in every day. If the subject line doesn't mention location or date or something more than "My Davis Family" or "My Brick Wall" I delete it without even reading it. Takes too much time to to open all of them just to find that most of them are not even remotely connected. Another address you might find helpful is http://archiver.rootsweb.com/ This address allows you to access the archives of NC-PCFR since inception. Some of you might like to go back and read messages that were posted before you joined. Just type NC-PCFR in the search window on that page. Brenda
