Brenda; I have a Zilphia Dinkins I have been trying to follow. She m. into our Ward/Wilson family in Shelby Co TN. Since I am stuck on the Ward family in Sampson/Duplin Co NC If I could connect Zilphia to the Pitt Co, I could figure out the Wards also. I know nothing about this John M Ward, but figure he is somehow related to Elizabeth Wilson Ward of Sampson Co NC and Gibson Co, TN. 1839 John M Ward married Zilpha or Zilphia Dinkins, age 33 in Shelby Co TN. He was evidently dead by the 1850 census. Zilphia Dinkins is possibly the Widow Dinkins at the time of her marriage. 1850 Census Shelby Co, TN Household Zilpha Ward, 44, Jas., 10, Horace Wilson 21, Lucinda 20, NC. TN. 842-267 [listed in cross index as Lucinda Wilson. Possibly dau of Zilpha and unknown Dinkins] Horace Wilson was the son of James Wilson and Elizabeth Ward of Gibson Co TN, originally from Sampson Co, NC. Horace and Lucinda "Lucy" Eliza Dinkins were married in Shelby Co in 1850 and living with Zilpha Ward] Part of the Wards of Duplin/Sampson Co are supposedly from Pitt Co. Can you help?
