My husband's Teachey's and Carraways come out of Wayne and Greene. Though I am sure that the Teacheys came out of Duplin, I have not been able to trace his Joe Teachey to them (Duplin) as yet. The Carraways I haven't done enough on them to hold a conversation with you about them. The Joe Teachey was married to a Mary Carraway whos father was James Carraway. I have visited the little town of Teachey and loved it. Duplin County is a wonderful place to visit, the people are very friendly. Now to the Pittman name. That is I guess what you would call my brick wall. This is my mother's family and I can't seem to get beyond her gg-grandmother Ann Pittman (born about 1820). It is the only line that I have work on that I didn't find something every once in a while, but the Pittman line is a mystery to me. The County of Edgecombe is full of them, but I can't connect my Ann to anyone. Sorry I couldn't help you, but it is always good hearing from other people researching the same names. Betty Reason Edgecombe Genealogical Society Surnames: Baker, Grizzard, Hobbs, Webb, Pittman, Walston, Harrell Surnames: Reason, Cook, Mooring, Teachey, Carraway. Their seed shall remain forever and their glory shall not be blotted out. Their bodies may be buried in peace, but their names liveth forevermore.
