Is there a relationship between the Moyes and the Wilsons? I have picked up a bunch of records of Moyes on Wilson records. Here are the earliest in NC. REBECCA BRASWELL mentioned below m. WILLIAM WILSON shortly after the first record below. It is not known if she was a Widow Braswell or the daughter of Richard & Eleanor Braswell. There are opinions on both sides. I also found a bunch of Wilson/Moye records in Pitt Co. and have been wondering if there could have been a Moye-Wilson marriage? Don't know about a connection with the Wilsons. THe Thomas Moye listed below is an unknown at least to me. His Will at the archives is strange. He mentions three children - all boys and originally the surname was written in as Moye. Two of the boys surname is marked through and Phillips is inserted and the third one was left as Moye. Most of us are of the opinion they were all three his step sons indicating he had married a Phillips widow. Don't know where he came from and it is possible he was part of this family but nothing in the records to even suggest it. Roger might have found something.
