THe above is mine plus Polly's brother Curtis Dail. Polly and Curtis' children married and moved into Lenoir Co. By the early 1800's a bunch of other Dail names appear in Duplin - maybe out of Greene and Pitt - maybe not. The Dails in NE NC also came out of Norfolk Co - how I found where they came from. Don't know about Chowan. Family tradition says that Thomas Dail was married to Sarah Tripp of Pitt or Greene but I have never seen any documentation to prove it.
