Janice, Many thanks go out to Paula and to you for the responses to my inquiry re Calvin Moye. I knew that Susannah Bell Moye's father was Balaam Bell but did not know that her mother was Penelope Turnage, so you have provided the name of another ancestor. Thanks a bunch. One of my third great grandmothers from Greene County was named Penelope Forrest. I had never known Penelope's maiden name until a newly discovered Forrest family bible record stated that Penelope Forrest's maiden name was Moye. From the census records I feel like I can safely determine that Penelope Moye, born 1820's, was most likely the daughter of Calvin and Susannah Bell Moye. One thing that makes that fall into place even more is that Penelope Moye Forrest named one of her sons Calvin.
