Benjamin Brown's 1821 Pitt County will lists the following heirs: Sons: William M., Willie, John S., Eddie Daughters: Patsy Wallace of TN, Clary Rives, Ritty Anderson, Elizabeth Brown, Grandson: Benjamin B. Brown Grandchildren: Elizabeth Stancil, Benjamin B. Stancil, John F. Stancil, Martha Stancil So it appears Benjamin Brown had a daughter who married a Stancil , parents of his above named grandchildren. What was the name of Benjamin's daughter who was the mother of Elizabeth, Benjamin B., John F., and Martha Stancil? And who was her husband, the father of these children? I know that Benjamin B. Stancil was born about 1807 or so but have never been able to identify his father. The 1810 census lists three Stancils in Pitt County: Nobles Stancil, and then Godfrey and William Stancil both on the same page. I believe there is a good possibility that Godfrey and William were brothers. Could this William be the father of Benjamin Brown's grandchildren?
