Have you seen this site? Maybe it's yours. I remember hearing that the Tysons had a school in Pitt County, the Charles Tyson School? But it may have been later. Others will know more about this. http://www.pate-paithistoricalsociety.org/bridger.html ----Original Message Follows---- From: "Janice Tripp Gurganus" <jtginnc@coxnc.rr.com> Reply-To: NC-PCFR-L@rootsweb.com To: NC-PCFR-L@rootsweb.com Subject: [NC-PCFR] PITT COUNTY ORPHANAGE? Date: Sat, 4 May 2002 21:03:18 -0400 This message is being posted for Martha Shipman. Joseph Craven BRIDGER (b. 1821), son of Robert BRIDGER and Nancy MOYE grew up in an orphanage. Was there an orphanage or care center maintained in Pitt County in the 1820s (perhaps by the Tysons/Tisons)? Any help will be appreciated Martha Shipman wdsjr@carolina.net ==== NC-PCFR Mailing List ==== Post to this mail list at: NC-PCFR-L@rootsweb.com Visit the PCFR website at http://www.rootsweb.com/~ncpcfr Browse our rich collection of old family photographs, private documents, and public records. ============================== To join Ancestry.com and access our 1.2 billion online genealogy records, go to: http://www.ancestry.com/rd/redir.asp?targetid=571&sourceid=1237 _________________________________________________________________ Send and receive Hotmail on your mobile device: http://mobile.msn.com
