The Pitt Co. marriage index (1867-1924) at the court house shows Macon Glasgow Moye's parents to have been William and Mary Moye. Marriage occured Feb 7, 1877, in Greenville Township. An alternate spelling for Macon, often found in local documents, is "Meekin". Roger Kammerer's research shows that M. G.'s parents were William (son of George Moye and Feribee Bell) and Mary Harris (dau of James Harris and Lucretia _______). I don't believe that Roger has been able to determine the parents of that particular George Moye--there were many Georges! In my own notes, that George is filed under "Missing Links".
