Linda and anyone else... Was Bladen Co a common destination for people from Pitt and Martin Cos? There was a Shadrack or Shade Wilson there on one census who might be connected to our Sampson Co Shadrack or Shade Wilson. He was also listed in the War of 1812 from Columbus Co which was split off of Bladen. The name Shade Wilson also occurs in Pitt Co. as son of Samuel Wilson in 1850. I am trying to connect them all to the same root family in northern NC. quite early, from which our line descends. The name Shadrack is quite unusual among Wilson surnamed families and they most all go by the nickname Shade.
