Those of you who grew up in the western part of the state can just delete this WITHOUT voting. Those of you in Texas who think BBQ is just beef, well just take our word. Jane sent this note this morning and we thank her for bringing this serious matter to our attention. Being rather passionate about my BBQ I have already voted and will vote each day. Thanks, Jane. It may seem trivial to some, but there is media battle taking place over Western BBQ vs. Eastern BBQ. The NC Division of Tourism has a BBQ Poll on their web site to settle the question of who has the best BBQ in the state of North Carolina. The Lexington CVB is working with the Greensboro newspaper to run an "election" story of Western BBQ beating Eastern BBQ. There will be a full blown statewide and national advertising campaign run by the Lexington CVB if they win! Please take a moment to vote for Vinegar vs. Tomato Sauce. This would be embarrassing for us to lose to Lexington BBQ. You can vote once a day until October 1st. Forward this email to your friends and family to keep folks voting! http://www.visitnc.com/index_home.asp *Click through on the plate, to the story on food in NC.
