Laura Davis, Director of the Family History Center LDS Library in Greenville was our guest speaker. She went over all the research resources that are available to us at the Family History Center, and reviewed the LDS web site with us with tips for searching the site. New member Bob Newton indicated he was researching Whitehursts, Newtons, and others. Alex Mewbern, another new member , is researching Moores, Tripps, Smiths, and others. Vernistine Paige, visitor, is searching Clemmons, Ebrons, and others. Allison Phipps, visitor, is researching Phipps, Murdock, and others as a school project. Liz Sparrow is researching Harris, Dixon, Taylor, Smith, and many others. Bill Kittrell announced that the board had decided to split the duties of the Secretary. The organization has grown so much in the last few years that the responsibilities of the secretary were too much for one person. Roger Kammerer, editor of the Quarterly, will deliver it to Accucopy when it is ready to be printed. Accucopy will print and mail the Quarterlies. Laymond Elks, Treasurer, will pay the bill at Accucopy and pick up the master copy for the printing. Laymond will also store the back issues of the Quarterly at his home and be responsible for mailing out the new member packages that require back issues, or any that are ordered. Brenda Stocks will record the minutes of the meetings and post them to the mail list. Roger Kammerer, who is a member of the Pitt Co. Historical Society's committee on the reprinting of the Chronicles of Pitt County announced that the book will be reprinted from the original master without changes in the Spring of 2003, hopefully. Cost will be about $60 plus shipping and handling. Profits from this sale will be used to print a smaller supplement to the Chronicles of Pitt County at a later date. The meeting was closed and the people present exchanged information, went to the History Room to do research, or just visited with others. The next meeting will be Dec. 17 at Sheppard Memorial Library at 7:00 pm. Brenda
