Today we had our first "Picturing Pitt County" event at Sheppard Memorial Library, and those of us that were working there felt it was a hugh success. I don't have a final tally yet for the number of photographs scanned. We logged in 15 files containing anywhere from 5 to 15 photos each. Traffic was steady from about 9:30 am til about 1:30 pm when we closed up for the day. We took in a beautiful assortment of old Pitt County photos. All of us who were there feel this is something we must do again, and we hope to also do this at Reunion in October. For those of you who wish to send photos on disk or by e-mail, we urge you to do so. We would like to have all of your families represented in this photo archive. Local members may bring their photos to the May meeting and Eleanor will scan them in at that time. This is truly an exciting project. I was thrilled today to log in some pictures of my Stokes family that I knew their names, but had never seen their pictures. Many thanks to all of the PCFR members who worked at this event today. It was a fun day, and we topped it off by going to Ryan's for late lunch, socializing, and celebration for a very successful day. Brenda
