My family ,or at least part of my family has been in the pitt-martin-beufort county area since the 1600's.My great-grandfather was Charles Tucker who in 1854 built a house on what is now the new bern highway.They also owned that store down ther on the corner of where pitt plaza is now at new bern highway and 64 bypass. At the pitt county fairgrounds where the old settlers farm buildings are is the former home of my great-grandmother's family- the brooks. Those buildings are theirs or at least the last I knew they were there.I have never lived as an adult in Pitt cty. We moved when I was four in about 1962.I enjoy your site immensely although not knowing much about the area there are some things that mean nothing to me.If anyone is related or has info about thaese families please post it or e-mail me!
