Need Martha's help with this one, or anybody's help. Mainly HELP! Here is a list of people in the 1850 Greene Co census. There are two families next to each other. In the first list, I believe that Thomas Tyson is incorrectly identified as Thomas Moye. The second person is Rachel Speight Moye Tyson. She was married to Elbert Moye who died abt. 1837. This Thomas Tyson may have a first name other than Thomas, making identification difficult. Thomas (Moye) (I believe Tyson) 45 M Rachel (I believe Speight Moye Tyson) 45 F Hannah 21 F Barzilla 19 F Moses 27 F George 15 F Orpah 13 (Theophilus has been erased. May have been trying to write Offey The M or F has been erased and written over too as though the census taker was not sure.) Lany 11 Noah 9 Joel 7 Richard 5 Thomas 3 Next family: Penny Tyson 60 ( Is this Penelope Dixon or Penelope Moye?) Elizabeth Moye 20 Harriett Moye 18 William Moye 16 The problem I am having is that some of these names are also in Pitt County. Is the Lany above the daughter of Moses Tyson and Louisa Joyner? No. The other Laney is living in Pitt county in 1850 with Moses and Eliza Joyner. If you notice in the Seth Tyson Bible posted on Greene Co web site, a Laney Tyson is listed as child of Moses Tyson and Louisa Joyner. People have tried to give me info about the Moses Tyson in Pitt County to match the Moses above and it doesn't match. Can anyone help identify the people above? I was sitting on the couch and I thought, Well, in the 1880 Pitt County census, a Bundy is living between my Fannie Tyson and a Thomas M. Tyson. In the 1860 and 1870 Greene Co. censuses, there is a Barzillai living with Fannie. I haven't been able to place her with a family, but I put Barzillai Bundy in the LDS site and by golly, there was a Barzillai Bundy born in NC abt. 1837. I think Barzillai and Fannie were sisters. I think Fannie was a Bundy. Can anyone help me more with this? Will send some more specific info in a bit.
