I am a bit dissapointed but not surprised. Before and since the age of the internet, I often have found these sorts of "clubs" to be nothing but a pathatic group of people bragging on their ancestors. I have also found the glory to be sadly misplaced. Ralph Tucker, who just passed was my mother's first cousin. I think his father was Charles who died long before I was born and was the brother of my Grandfather Simon Lloyd Tucker. Grandaddy died in '71,Istill miss him. Ralph was the one who told me a very "unglorious" greatgrandfather ancedote. It seems that rather than go to war against the yankees and risk the loss of his farm, not to mention his life, old man Tucker hired and paid a local unfortunate to go in his place! what happened to this man is unknown by my and I had hoped to get some clues or background from your group-bit I guess that is not to be. Iam sorry they so self important. I have long grown accustomed to being embarrased by my fellow southerners, carolinians and family members. I really don't know where to begin with this geneology stuff and being ignored by everyone but you does'nt help. That is why I so appreciate your concern and effort. If you will recall several weeks back I tried to get my mother-the former Kathryn Brooks Tucker interested in your site. I know that you two briefly corresponded.she went to greenville high class of '54, I believe. I hope I hear from this man soon and any trails you can lead me to will be greatly appreciated. thanks,Bill Greene > > > ==== NC-PCFR Mailing List ==== > Post to this mail list at: NC-PCFR-L@rootsweb.com > Visit the PCFR website at > http://www.rootsweb.com/~ncpcfr > Browse our rich collection of old family > photographs, private documents, and public records. > > ============================== > To join Ancestry.com and access our 1.2 billion > online genealogy records, go to: > http://www.ancestry.com/rd/redir.asp?targetid=571&sourceid=1237 > __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
