I don't have any information on Robert Edward Elks. But there are some of the Elks family that I have questions about. Since they are in the Ballards Crossraods area near Farmville may be a connection. Titus Elks b. 1823 d. 7-3-1915. According to death ceertificate his middle name is Sue. Buried in cemetery on Pollard Farm Road north of Ballards. Note: Can't find my notes but thought on Titus' death certificate either the father or informat's name was Alexander Elks. John Elks b. 1-6-1831 d. 7-5-1900 m. Sleteta Ann ____ b. 10-1-1840 d. 11-__-1901. William Henry Elks b. 5-25-1848 d. 5-6-1928, his father was James Elks. William Henry's wife was Nacny Bruer (Brewer). Note: These two are in the same age range as Robert E. Elks. Buried in Elks-Bowen site at Ballards. In another cemetery on Allen Road is William Elks b. ca 1804 d. 1889 Age 85. I know this doesn't answer the question on Robert but might be of help to others. If anyone knows of info on the ones listed above please let me know about it.
