Please reprint the PITT COUNTY CHRONICLES as beautifully as it was printed the first time. Cartert County reprinted Volume I of their history with a poor quality copy machine and paper binding. It is not the kind of book one wants to pass down to one's children. My husband is waiting for an original copy to show up at a second hand book dealer's or a garage sale rather than buy a poor copy of the original. Jo Prytherch
Jo, The reprinting of Chronicles of Pitt County North Carolina is a project of the Pitt County Historical Society. I don't know what they are planning. I would guess that cost might be a factor in choice of binding , paper, etc. The first printing is very nice...I'm so glad my Dad bought one when they came out! Brenda, what is the address of the Pitt Co. Historical Society? I want them to know how important it is to do a quality job. The Chapel Hill Press is now specializing in books featuring the histories of ordinary families under their new ownership. I don't know how competitive they are in pricing. Thanks. Jo
