I do have quite a bit of info on this family in later years but nothing other than his birth and his parents. I truly enjoyed my trip to NC. recently and some of the information I gleaned from the trip, hoping to get back this year for the reunion. Spring is a beautiful time to visit NC. and enjoyed getting to walk on the land that William and Millicent MOORE owned in the mid l700's and for about l00years in their descendents.posession. This is a real slow and tedious project Sue has taken on and we all appreciate this contribution which covers so many of our counties. Thank you Sue. Sloan has also contributed several new military files - CSA - for Craven, Duplin etc counties. Thank you Sloan. Beverly is contributing numerous Onslow Wills and many surnames are the same as found in these various counties.

Thanks so much for the information! You really helped a lot. I have found some info that Gideion and Nancy Brooks had 3 girls: Perlina Moye, Irene Arrena Moye, and Levisa Moye she born in Pitt Co. Also Nancy Brooks Moye married a Wilson #2. Nancy's father was probably James Brooks b. abt 1740 d.1806 and his father may be John Brooks married Elizabeth Rigney. A great number of these Pitt Co people ended up in Brunswick Co NC and HorryCoSC as did my grtGrdf Joseph Craven Bridger who married Lunicey Forbes dau of Robert and GraceyTyson Forbes. Many of the names on the RW Pledge of Alleg are family names in the area. Joseph C's father was Robert Bridger married Nancy Moye Bridger Wallace d. 1875. Send me more thoughts and ideas. We'll keep looking. #2 Wallace took care of Joseph C after Nancy married him, but Joseph C. told the family he grew up in an orphanage. I think someone took care of Robert as he grew up but I don't think it was his parents. Maybe Elsa died and Joseph Bridger went back home. I can't find much about the Bridger family in Pitt Co. Lunicey Forbes Bridger had a brother who lived in Georgetown Co SC before she moved there with Joseph C. Yes, they are my great grdparents. Lunicy is the daughter of Robert & Gracey Tyson Forbes. They married in Pitt Co on 11-18-1846, were listed in the 1850Pittcensus with 2 children (my Grdf and Martha Jane, my namesake), moved to HorryCoSC & were listed in the 1860census with a larger family. I want to know who took care of JosephCraven's father, Robert Bridger, who married Nancy Moye. I don't think it was either of his parents. Joseph C was in an orphanage until Nancy married Mr. Wallace. Wallace left Joseph C. property along with his own children. I found that document. 3. From the Family Bible of Sarah Frances McGowan Worthington there were two very old frayed pages which were kept inside the newer Bible. Contains information on the Pitt County, NC MOYE and the MAGOUNDS (McGOWAN) family, plus some slave records. Copies of these pages and the WORTHINGTON family Records from Sarah Frances' Bible are on file in Joyner Library, ECU. I had the Bible over there last summer. They already had copies, but made additional ones. They critiqued some of the "professional restoration" which had been done to the Bible in the 1980's. Loty Moye was probably Zelota, but called Loty; very difficult to tell what this name is, however, Loty Moye's sister Nancy Moye Bridger Wallace named one of her daughters Zelota and called her "Lotty". 3. This message is being posted for Martha Shipman. Joseph Craven BRIDGER (b. 1821), son of Robert BRIDGER and Nancy MOYE grew up in an orphanage. Was there an orphanage or care center maintained in Pitt County in the 1820s (perhaps by the Tysons/Tisons)? Any help will be appreciated Martha Shipman wdsjr@carolina.net

Who was the Nancy MOYE who married William BROWN and had two sons become doctors; the two sons served in the Civil War. Was this Nancy MOYE the one who married Robert BRIDGER or Nancy's mother? Did she marry BROWN before or after WALLACE or did she marry a BROWN at all? My grandmother was Nancy MOYE BRIDGER (b. 1801), married Robert BRIDGER (b. April 1797). Thanks.
