    1. [NC-PCFR] Nathaniel NOBLES
    2. Charlie Nobles
    3. Nathaniel NOBLES was born 1739/40 and died in 1803. Who were his parents? Were they John and Lovey MOORE NOBLES as set forth in an article in the Chronicles of Pitt County by Lucy Pierce or were they John and Elizabeth WARD NOBLES as I believe? In a report from a professional genealogist I was advised that a careful study of Nathaniel's land holdings might show that he inherited part of John's property and that further evidence might be found in the records of New Bern District Superior Court. Being a resident of Oklahoma I do not have access to those records to search. As a matter of general info, my email address has changed from "cnobles@mmcable.com" to "cnobles1@cox.net. Any help would be appreciated. Charlie Nobles Edmond, Oklahoma

    1. [NC-PCFR] Bryant, Rentfroe, Taylor, Fields, Holland - thanks to Roger
    2. Martha Marble
    3. THANK YOU ROGER. You have just provided me with a couple of new ancestors - under the sheets variety. p 15 of the new Quarterly - Joel Bryant of Greene had two children by, it appears, two different women - one was Blake Duwain RENTFROE. He is mine. I knew he had a middle initial D. Knew he was on the Greene Census in 1830 and the Lenoir Census in 1840 and dec by 1844. I knew there was some connection to Joel Bryant but couldn't figure out what. Wonder which of the mothers Joel married - Blake's or Peggy's? THere is also some relationship between Joel Bryant and Jeremiah Fields and his 2nd wife - if he ever married her. Joel sounds like he was a busy man. Is Duwain a surname I have never heard of? Does anyone have any information on the Rentfroe family as I assume the mother was a Rentfroe? Blake D. Bryant married Hannah Holland - I assume in Greene Co - and their daughter Mary D. married John Taylor in Lenoir County. Don't know anything about the Hollands either. The only Bryants I can find in Greene Co was the William who lived right on the border of Greene and Pitt and whose Will is posted on the Dobbs archives. He may have been out of Northampton Co where the name was spelled Bryan and he may have been connected with the Pettypool family. Any assistance would be appreciated. Martha

    1. [NC-PCFR] research help
    2. Linda Rider
    3. Attn: Bill Greene I am shocked that anyone would find this group uncooperative - this is so far from the truth it is laughable! When I was searching for my family gravesite, Bill Kittrell, Janice Gurganious and Brenda Stocks graciously gave up their Saturday morning to tromp through a wet field on a cold drizzling day - into an overgrown cemetery plot in the middle of nowhere to help me! Since then, other people from this group, all unknown to me, have been kind enough to help whenever they can. It is not possible to have all your questions answered - so many of us do not have enough of the facts to provide clues for anyone to use in look-ups - but they will certainly help if they have any information. I have joined the group and been to the October "reunion" meeting where Roger Kammerer went out of his way to provde me with some info he thought he remembered seeing "somewhere" in his massive amounts of research. Several others were also extremely helpful. I plan to attend again this October. I wish I lived close enough to attend every meeting. They are a great group of sharing people and they deserve an apology from you. 2. Bill Greene, As a member of this "pathatic (your spelling) club," I take personal offense at your remarks. There are some very hard working people in this group and you have insulted them. If you are a paying member, I will personally refund your $20 out of my own pocket just to get you out of your misery, provided the Board will agree to drop your membership… I have only been a Member for 5 months and it is one of the best $20 I have ever spent… I love PCFR and don't care to be a Member beside someone that doesn't. 2. We pride ourselves in helping our fellowman. Forgive us if we seemed to neglect you. I am sorry you have the attitude you have about Southerners. I am a proud Southerner and I do always help when I can. If I have no information I do nothing. If we each emailed back we have nothing it would be too much email. As Bill said I only saw one name to check on. I will be more than happy to look up what I have, but I need more info to go on. Email it to the group and I am sure everyone will be happy to help if they can. Have a great weekend. Linda Melvin

    2. Bill Kittrell
    3. Bill, not knowing what you need in the way of info my question is hve you looked at PCFR's Website? The following is there. Lill Jackson Cemetery records with listing of Tuckers in cemetery at US264 & NC 43. Look at page 8. Also photo album..some Tucker photos. Pitt 1850 census household #589 has Edith Tucker age 52 with William H. Tucker age 21. The following books have info on the family. Joshua Tucker by Roiger Kammerer. Also Chronicles of Pitt County has much on the Tuckers. Elizabeth Ann Tucker b. 1827 m. Samuel A. Kittrell. This is my line through the Tuckers.

    3. Bill, I am sorry no one has snswered your query to your satisfaction. My computer has had four viruses in two weeks. I hadn't tried to answer because of that. Your first query only mentioned the name Charles Tucker that I was aware of. I looked in the Joshua Tucker book and there were 7 Charles' in there. No other family names were mentioned. We had no idea of exactly how far back you wanted family info. You mentioned they were here in the 1600's so one would assume you had a lot of the family info. Arden Charles Tucker m. Edith Tull, had son William Hardy Tucker who m. Catherine Amanda Hardee, they in turn had son, Charles Macon Tucker who m. Eva Louise Brooks. I was aware of the Tucker cemetery located near US 264 (Greenville Blvd) and NC 43. The college had this site moved, as Julian Vainright hadnled it for the college. Please let us know exactly what info you are looking for. The Joshua Tucker book has a lot of info on the Tucker family. Also relationships between the Brooks and Hardees. We will be glad to help if you tell us exactly what you are expecting for us to provide.

I also have 2 step children, a daughter with 3 grandchildren, our twins age 2 a boy & a girl and then a boy age 5, then my step son age 42. We are so thankful the Lord sent us some new grandkids because the others are grown. The oldest one is a rising senior at Liberty Univ. in Lynchburg, VA. My Mother, age 85, will have all 4 of her children along with the grandkids & great grandkids. The men are cooking on the grill, but Mother has to cook us a cake. 3. Actually, I enjoyed it, Linda. We spend a great deal of time studying mothers and fathers. I'm sometimes amazed at the way family members just took over and raised nieces, nephews, etc. From what I've learned so far about my Bakers, many of the young mothers and fathers died when the children were quite young. The grandparents had to take over and raise the kids. Motherhood and fatherhood both take many forms. Linda, you were one of the first people to help me on the list. Thanks for everything.
