    2. Betty: My most humble apologies, I am sorry. I thought I was mailing that message to a different person who had posted a message on the NC-PCFR-L mailing list to the effect that he had mailing and or searching services available, etc. that would help individuals find families in the Beaver Dam, Bell Arthur Community. My message was not intended for you, Betty. Jack

    3. Betty; There were Carraways in Sampson Co also. It was there I found my most favorite name in all of the research I have done...Bedriden Carraway. I don't know if I have anything in my records of him but believe he was quite early...at any rate he was a very active man judging from the land records and not likely to have had a health problem. My husband's Teachey's and Carraways come out of Wayne and Greene. Though I am sure that the Teacheys came out of Duplin, I have not been able to trace his Joe Teachey to them (Duplin) as yet. The Carraways I haven't done enough on them to hold a conversation with you about them. The Joe Teachey was married to a Mary Carraway whos father was James Carraway. I have visited the little town of Teachey and loved it. Duplin County is a wonderful place to visit, the people are very friendly. Now to the Pittman name. That is I guess what you would call my brick wall. This is my mother's family and I can't seem to get beyond her gg-grandmother Ann Pittman (born about 1820). It is the only line that I have work on that I didn't find something every once in a while, but the Pittman line is a mystery to me. The County of Edgecombe is full of them, but I can't connect my Ann to anyone. Sorry I couldn't help you, but it is always good hearing from other people researching the same names. Betty Reason Edgecombe Genealogical Society Surnames: Baker, Grizzard, Hobbs, Webb, Pittman, Walston, Harrell Surnames: Reason, Cook, Mooring, Teachey, Carraway.
