    1. [NC-PCFR] JESSE NELSON
    2. Bill Kittrell
    3. I have seen the posting of question about Jesse Nelson so what I am posting might be repeating the same information. 1850 Pitt Census #723 has Nimroad Nelson age 62, wife Mary age 49 with son Jesse Nelson age 28. Lill Jackson notes: Nimrod Nelson m. Mary A. Lauginghouse. Nimrod was son of Giles Nelson. He also states that Jesse Nelson m. Clary Elizabeth Brown (can't read his writing but it appears her father was John R. Brown) Mr. Jackson states Jesse and Clary's children were Mary Elizabeth who m. Jesse T. Hart, Alice m. Henry Tripp, Eunice n.m., Eliza n.m., John Brown Nelson m. Sarah Pate. As stated it is hard to read Mr. Jackson' handwriting, you have to see it to understand. He gives another son as Jesse Matthew Carr Nelson who had son Claude Leroy Nelson. There is a Claude L. Nelson b. 9-12-1891 d. 10-28-1945 buried in Hamilton, NC cemetery. Other sons were Joseph L. n.m., James n.m. and Walter m. Alice Oliver and then m. Ada Faircloth. I can't say all of this is true as Mr. Jackson doesn't put everything in order so you can be sure of what he means. Source: Martin County, NC Death Records 25-216 list Eliza Nelson age 61 d. 1-2-1938 buried Oak City NC Father: Jesse Nelson Mother: not given Informant: Jesse Nelson NOTE: The Jesse on the 1850 census would not be Jesse. There is a book in Sheppard Library that has info on the Nelson family. It is the story of one man and his leaving this area. It is a narrative of his life. It was given to me and I gave it to the library. I will have to see who wrote it and if it connects to this family. This might muddy the waters even more but it gives you some names to check out.

    1. [NC-PCFR] PCFR Please Change The Subject Line
    2. Would you people PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE change the Subject line to something other than ANYTHING pertaining to the Surname Book when responding? There is a LOT of work going on putting together the Surname book, and these messages not related to the Surname Book with the Subject Line saying Re: Surname, are causing us EXTRA work. Although we will eventually get around to reading these messages, right we are using our time to put the Book together and when you don't change the Subject Line, we have to read through EVERY message to see if there are Surnames listed. Please help us help you ... Thank You! Laymond Elks

    3. Hello Pat, No, I have not found any thing that would give that conclusion. I did find a Jesse Nelson (Roger had a transcript about him in one of the Quarterly's this year) that I could not connect to either family. Also a Jesse Nelson whose father was William Nelson. Never did find who he was related to. Just not enough documentation. I had wondered if the William Nelson in Surry Co. Va had a son Jesse, who might have been related to the upper NC Nelsons, but never finished the search, as yet. gloria ----- Original Message ----- From: "pat trigilio" <ptrigilio@hotmail.com> To: <NC-PCFR-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Monday, December 16, 2002 11:19 AM Subject: [NC-PCFR] Nelson > Gloria, > did you ever find a connection betweenGiles, Nimrod and Jonas Nelson, Sr?
