    3. I may have. Oh gosh. Have you seen the Sutton website that's really big? I contributed some of the info there. My whole family is there too although I don't just love that part of it. Anyway. Here is one of the websites: http://members.aol.com/rbystroff/PhineasV3/DR01/DR01_001.htm Gravemarkers in Rocky Creek Baptist church Cemetery-Monroe County GA. Nancy Medlock Sutton b. 1772 in SC d. 1854 She sings in the heavenly choir dau of Samuel Medlock Rev. Soldier Phineas Sutton b. 1765 in Va. D. 1838 St. Peter met him with a smile "Come in, Phineas" Double granite marker bearing two inscriptions: Aaron Sutton May 13, 1796 Aug 22 1880 M. C. Sutton July 12, 1796 May 10, 1870 Erected by their son J. H. Sutton Then, Jas. Henderson Sutton Apr. 10, 1839 Aug. 15, 1916 A Confederate soldier James Henderson Sutton had architectural abilities and designed one of the courthouses for Monroe, GA. I believe it's still standing, not sure. Anyway, the family was a bit well off as any southern families could be then. The Suttons prized learning. James Henderson Sutton was a brother to my Mary Elizabeth Sutton who married Joseph T. Cole. Joseph and Mary Elizabeth moved to Claiborne parish LA where Joseph T. Cole enlisted in the Confederate army. He went to war and was never heard from again. Mary Elizabeth did not go back to GA, but moved to Bienville parish LA, bought land there and raised her family. All of her children learned to read and write. I have not even started on the Sutton side. I only know a bit. 3. Rev. War. Jane is President of the group working to save the Battlefields used during the Civil War and is the local expert on the CW battles. Kelly's Mill Pond grain probably was used to feed the American troops during the RW because it was owned by Richard Caswell but Jane is trying to find PROOF there was a skirmish in the area. Kelly's Mill Pond (wasn't called that back then) is part of the CW Battlegrounds which was pretty extensive in area. Thanks for the information. 2. Sure would be nice if, in addition to all the Genealogy groups keeping copies of their own work, that they send copies to the NC Archives - there all this information can be kept safely and securely for future generations and not get accidently thrown out or burned in a house or building fire. The pride of authorship should be enough to have your name of the product sitting in the State Archives. John B. Grimes jgrimes227@aol.com Fairfax Station, VA 22039-2729

    3. I am looking for more information on my great-great grandmother's family. She was an Ecklin and was from Beaufort County. She was born about 1852. She married William Augustus George Gaskins. I know she had a brother named John, but that is it. She is also buried in or near Chocowinity. She is not buried with her husband. If anyone know where she is buried or anything about her family, please let me know. ===== Thanks in advance! 3. In my survey of grave sites I find very little help in lising of person buried in these country sites. If the funeral home that handle the burial is still in existance it might have the names of the ones they buried only. Otherwise you will have to rely other researchers and possibly death records giving location. Also there are grave removal records for those sites that have been moved in the Register of Deeds office in Pitt county. Now some of the large city sites will have list of who bought the plots. I know they have ask me for copy of my work when I finish it. I have tried taking their lists and checking the names but so many of the plots had other persons buried in them. It was better for me to list the names in order as I found them. As mentioned before Elton Hardy did Martin county. Mr. House has done Beaufort county. I understand his work is supposed to be publised but I have no details as to when. Possibly Beaufort Genealogical Society is dong it. Some churches have records. Mount Pleasant has a board with the plots and names on it. Bethany FWB Church has list but had five unknown plots. In my comparing my notes with theirs, St. Amand and Jackson I found the missing five. St. Amand listed two, Jackson two and I found one to account for them.
