Unfortunately, I didn't. I only printed parts of his work, mainly of Craven and Dobbs Co. I did notice his book is in the library in Raleigh. I had been discussing Craven Co with Bill before he died. Jo, Bill's site has been taken down and I didn't download the Edgecombe Co information or the information with the Kinchen's in it - just remember the name. Gloria, did you download it? Martha, I think I missed something. My (living) family commitments take me away for days - sometimes weeks at the time. My Taylors have a Kinchen or maybe two. The will I posted also has duplications of my Taylor's names, but none that are exact enough to tie them together. Please clue me in on Bill's web site and I'll scan it for connections. Thanks. Jo

Peele, Holloway, Rawls...all connected (or suspected to be) to the Wilsons of Bertie, Edgecombe, Northampton, Hertford. The Peeles were Quakers and Thomas Wilson gave land over a period of time to various Peeles...and etc. Rawls found as neighbors of our Wilsons and Moores in Bertie and ended up with the Bertie land holdings that had been in the Northampton estate of William Wilson. Someday I hope to figure these relationships out. As the New Year rings out the old and rings in the new, technology does the same. My e-mail address at the New Bern-Craven County Public Library is changing for the first time in many years. Please update your address books to include my new e-mail address (vjones@cpclib.org) and please remove my old address (vjones@ncsl.dcr.state.nc.us). I will still receive mail at the old address for an undetermined period of time. (Also, can the list-owners make the changes to the system to send mail to the new address? Thanks.) I have been on vacation the past two weeks, but my staff members were busy with the obituary project. We are pleased to announce that all existing New Bern newspapers on microfilm from 1751 to 1871 and from 1968 to the present have been indexed. The New Bern Weekly Journal from 1882-1883, 1887-1892 is complete and contains numerous Craven, Jones, Lenoir, and Pitt County names. Work is continuing on the remaining 1870s papers, the 1884-1886 and 1893-1915 Weekly Journals and all of the Daily Journals, as well as the remaining 20th century New Bern papers. The Obituary Index can be found at the library's Kellenberger Room Online Resources for Research page at http://newbern.cpclib.org/research/ Be sure to keep watching for new will abstracts and new apprentice bond abstracts in the coming weeks. Does anyone know anything about a Marl Oakley and his family? I believe he lived in the Farmville area. I do not know if he is still living or not. My great-grandfather William Henry Sr used to tell my dad that they were related. I am trying to figure out the connection. ===== Thanks in advance! This is not my family, but I found the following in Chron. of Pitt Co. Article 492B, "Joseph Speight and Elizabeth Jones Darden" submitted by Nancy Newsom Darden : In this article, Liscomb Jones is listed as a dau. of Walter Jones, Sr. and Dorothy Bodat . "The grandfather of Henry Jones, Walter Jones, was born ca 1670 (d. 1728 Beaufort Co. NC), m. Dorothy Bodat. He was a minister of the Anglican church in NC. He is listed in 1717 as owning 218 acres of land and in 1723, as a Freehoolder in Beaufort and Hyde Co.; children: Simon Jones; Alice Jones m.
