    3. We were out today with a friend seachng for grave sites. These had been given to me and were ones I did not know about. They were African-American near Pactolus. The families were Sheppards, Daniel (Daniels), Hyman, Little, Cherry, King, Williams and others. About 50 graves total at three different sites. Found a few more but unable to record them today. The person driving for me had other business this afternoon. It was really too hot today. Bill

    2. Bill, please post the Sheppard families. My gg grandfather was Simon Sheppard b.1815. He lived in Swift Creek, Pitt county on the 1880 census. One of his sons lived in Pactolus. I have no other information on the sheppards. 3. I think you may be correct on the Josiah. Someone had given me the other info. I had a note from another researcher that Josiah was their father. I had left it that way until I could get further verification. Seems that you found it. 3. Bill and Dani, I ordered mine from Melissa several years ago and she was living at the same Coral Gables address you have listed. At that time her telephone number was 305-665-0903 . You might try that number Dani if you'd like to call her about the books. I agree with Bill that these books are a very valuable research tool and a great bargain at $45. 3. The only Peede family I know that lives around Ayden is Billy Peede, a friend of mine. I talked with him. He told me his family came from Roxboro in Person county. There is a large Peede cemetery located there that he has been to. I believe he may have more information but did not press him for that. I am sure I can get copy if need be. We use to play softball together. Billy Peede Father: L. Hughes Peede Grandfather: George Washington Peede Great Grandfather: Parnell Peede He had not heard of any of the Peeds mentioned in the posting. Bill
