Searching for the spouses names for the daughters of James and Nancy Stamper. James died during civil war on 9May1864 after serving only a few months. Nancy is found in the 1850, 1870 and 1880 Catawba census. She is found in Iredell on the 1860 census. In 1900 she is enumerated with her son-in-law Benjamin Gilleland, Jr. in Catawba Co. There are also possible connections to the Waggoner family. The girls were: Mary E. (b 1852) Margaret ( b 1854) Martha (b 1856)---married Avery Harwell 1879 Sarah J. (b 1857) Nancy L.
