Trying to get a line on several families in Iredell during the 1840-1850 time frame. In the 1850 census there is a James Stamper (23) and Mary (60) listed. Trying to prove if he is the son of Hugh Stamper (d1841) in Iredell. Hugh's estate sale was administered by Peter Waggoner. Also according to the civil war pension application, the widow of L. Franklin Stamper was L.A. Waugh. She states she was his widow, remarried, and was widow once again by 1885. In the 1880 census she is married to J.M. Waugh and has seven children from ages one thru fifteen. Would like to try and connect these people. **Also** during the civil war, was there regional postings of a mortality list? Did local counties publish and distribute? Were there local papers that might have carried a listing of the deaths or the next of kin? Sherry
