There are approximately 12 graves. Those marked are: Shaw, Buddy D. 1881 Shaw, Cenith E. Daughter of A.F. and M.E. Ireland B. July 11, 1894 D. Feb. 14, 1895 Shaw, Cornelia B. Dec. 4, 1880 D. Oct. 3, 1894 Shaw, Mary B. June 15, 1848 D. Aug. 21, 1882 Shaw, Mrs. Mother of William Shaw Came from England D. 1801 Shaw, Solomon D. 1869 Age 70 yrs. Shaw, William D. 1846 " These are the only Shaw graves in this book. There is a Cool Springs Township in the county, with several cemeteries. In my experience, the comment about coming from England may or may not be accurate. I think it does infer that she came to Iredell Co. from elsewhere at a considerable distance. The sooner the stone was erected after her death, the greater the probability of its accuracy. Peden's book, Marylanders to Carolina, lists three persons named Shaw coming to NC or SC: Basil Shaw, John Shaw, and another John Shaw. This book, while very valuable, is in no respect a complete listing of Marylanders who came to Carolina.
