In the 1800 census, there was a William Shepherd and a Thomas Winkfield. William Shepherd was between the ages of 26 and 45 years old and he had two males, ages 16-26, and one male age 10-16 living in his hosehold. Does anyone have any connection to William? After the death of Richard Shepherd, his two minor children were living in the home of Thomas Wingfield, in Iredell Co. Was this Thomas Winkfield/Wingfield the grandfather to these Shepherd children?
