I have been doing some research on the family of George Davidson, Jr., of Iredell Co., NC. George was the son of Col. George Davidson and Catherine Penelope Reese and was born in 1757 in Rowan County. He married a Rosanna Falls, d/o William Gilbreath Falls and Isabella Kerr. She was born about 1765. I have found three conflicting dates for their marriage: several secondary references give a date in 1794; others give 13 Jan 1784; and a reference on the OBCGS site give a date from the Duncanson Collection of 13 Jan 1781 in Rowan County. The last seems to be based on a lookup from a primary source. Does anyone have access either to the primary source - a Rowan county marriages register - or another good compilation that might give the date, and could they please share their data with me. Further, George died in 1813 and there were distributions through 1823. Rosanna (Falls) Davidson died in 1832 or 1834. Does anyone have access to Will or estate abstracts for these people? Or indices so that I might find these Wills? I have references that mention their existence. Those references say they are in Iredell County, but I have also seen possible references in either Maury or Giles Counties in Tennessee. And if anyone has data or stories on this family, I would be interested. thanks, john.
