I am revising my book "The Clayton Clique, the Descendants of George Clayton, 1723-1786". And this is the last call for revisions, corrections, and additions. George Clayton died in Rowan County, NC, but he lived in present day Iredell County. When his wife Sarah died in 1800, her will was filed in Iredell County. George and Sarah Clayton had eight children: 1. Henrietta Clayton b. 1745; Married: Alexander Davidson 2. Rebecca Clayton b. 1747; Married: Robert Oliphant 3. Rachel Clayton b. 1749; Married: John Falls 4. George Clayton b. 1751; d. ca. 1814 Married: Margaret Thompson 5. Margaret Clayton b. 1753; Married: Robert Neill 6. Lambert Clayton b. 22 June 1755; d. 12 July 1828; Married: Sarah Davidson 7. Anna Clayton b. 1757; d. Married: Thomas Cooke 8. Hannah Clayton: d. probably before 1783; Married: _________ Neill Lambert Clayton moved to present day Transylvania County and it is from him that I descend. Many of George Clayton (1751-1814) children also moved to western NC. Some of Margaret Clayton Neill's children married their first cousins, children of George (1751-1814) and Lambert.
